New Moon in Leo Tarot: Be Brave About What You Want

The next new moon in Leo falls on August 2, 2027, and it arrives with a total solar eclipse, the second eclipse-charged Leo new moon in a row after the one on August 12, 2026. Here is the pattern I see constantly in my readings. A woman sits down wanting devotion, real, demonstrative, chosen-first devotion, and by the time she says it out loud she has sanded it down to "I just want someone nice." The sanding is self-protection: a small wish hurts less when it fails. But the cards cannot work with a wish you have already half-abandoned, and neither can your life. Four cards, pulled slowly, ideally after dark. Shuffle while you think about the one desire you keep shrinking before you let anyone hear it. This spread is not asking whether your wish is realistic, only whether it is true.

1. The Hidden Want: What do I actually desire that I have been too careful to name?
2. The Dimmer: What habit, fear, or old story keeps me playing smaller than I am?
3. The Brave Move: What is one bold, concrete step this new moon is asking me to take?
4. The Applause: What becomes possible in my love life, and my life, when I let myself be fully seen?

Read the four as one story, left to right. If The Dimmer lands on something tender, an old heartbreak, a parent's voice, a rejection you never quite metabolized, give it an extra minute. That position holds the real work. The Brave Move only makes sense after you have looked The Dimmer in the face, which is why I put them in that order.

One reading I still think about: a client pulled the Queen of Wands as her Hidden Want and laughed out loud, because she recognized herself from ten years earlier, before a long relationship had taught her to take up less room. The want was not a man. The want was her own wattage back. Leo moons do that.

• What am I quietly proud of that no one has clapped for yet?

The Ritual: One Sentence, Out Loud, Once

When the cards are on the table and something in your chest has said "yes, that one," write your intention as a single sentence. Present tense, no hedging, no shrinking adjectives. Not "I hope to maybe meet someone decent." Try "I am done being a well-kept secret." Then step outside or sit by a window under the dark sky, light a candle, and read your sentence aloud once.

That is the whole ritual. Leo does not need elaborate, only sincere, and sincerity said out loud exactly once carries further than an hour of silent bargaining.
